Why Deep Shah IT Consulting
I have helped dozens of small businesses recover from data loss and ransomware. I design backup strategies that actually work, test them regularly, and keep them running behind the scenes. I use best practices like 3-2-1 backup (3 copies, 2 different media, 1 offsite) and immutable backups that even ransomware cannot touch.
Common questions about this service
What is NAS and is it the same as a backup?
NAS (Network Attached Storage) is shared file storage on your network. It is great for central file storage but it is not a backup — if a file is deleted or corrupted on NAS, it is deleted on the backup too. Real backup means multiple copies in different places.
How many backup copies do we need?
The industry standard is 3-2-1: three total copies, on two different media types, with one copy offsite. For example: original files, local NAS backup, and cloud backup. This protects against failure, malware, and disaster.
What if ransomware encrypts our cloud backup?
That is why we use immutable backups — files that cannot be changed or deleted for a set period. Even hackers cannot encrypt an immutable backup. We set this up as part of your ransomware defense strategy.
How fast can we recover if something goes wrong?
It depends on what you are recovering. Single file recovery: minutes. Full system recovery: usually under 24 hours. We test recovery regularly so you know the actual timeline for your data and systems.
